WordPress developer
in Omaha, Nebraska.
I’m Jon Imms, a senior WordPress developer based right here in Omaha. I design and build custom WordPress sites: Gutenberg blocks, API integrations, and site rescues for local businesses. You work directly with the person writing the code.

WordPress web design and development for Omaha businesses
The same enterprise-grade WordPress design and development I’ve shipped for national teams, available to businesses across the Omaha metro without the agency overhead.
01
Web design and custom builds
I design the layout, then build it on a modern block theme. New sites and rebuilds that are fast, editable by your team, and built to last through WordPress updates instead of breaking on them.
02
Custom Gutenberg blocks
Purpose-built editor blocks so your content team can manage the site themselves. No page-builder lock-in, no calling a developer for every text change.
03
API & CRM integrations
Connect WordPress to your CRM, payment processor, or internal tools with REST API integrations that survive plugin and platform updates.
04
Performance & SEO
Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, and local search visibility. I build my own SEO plugin, so this is home turf.
05
Maintenance & support
Proactive updates, security monitoring, and quick-turnaround fixes from someone in your timezone, not a ticket queue three time zones away.
06
Site rescues & migrations
Inherited a broken site? Developer disappeared mid-project? I untangle stuck WordPress projects, clean up hacked sites, and handle host migrations.
Why local matters
A WordPress developer you can actually meet
Most WordPress web design work gets outsourced to an agency account manager and a developer you never talk to. Working with a local designer and developer is different: I’m in Omaha, on Central time, and happy to meet over coffee to talk through your project before you commit to anything.
I’ve spent 12+ years building WordPress for enterprise teams and small businesses alike, and I write about the craft on the blog. When you hire me, that’s who shows up. No subcontractors, no hand-offs.
How much does WordPress development cost in Omaha?
Every project gets a clear, flat quote after a short discovery call. No hourly meters running, no agency markup. Small fixes are often same-week; full builds are scoped in phases so you always know what’s next and what it costs.
Do you do web design, or only development?
Both, for the site itself. I design the layout, typography and interface, then build it properly in WordPress, so one person is accountable for how it looks and how it works. What I don’t do is brand identity: logos, print and full rebrands belong with a dedicated designer, and I’m glad to build around one you already have.
Can you take over an existing WordPress site?
Yes, and that’s a large share of my work. I audit what’s there, document it, and stabilize before changing anything. Sites abandoned mid-project or by a previous developer are welcome.
Do you only work with Omaha businesses?
No, I work with clients across the US remotely. Being in Omaha just means local businesses get something rare in WordPress work: a senior developer they can meet in person.
Do you build new sites or just fix existing ones?
Both. New builds ship on modern block themes with editor-friendly custom blocks, and existing sites get rescued, sped up, integrated, or extended. Whatever the project calls for.
